Have you ever considered that your switchboard may need upgrading?
If not, you are not alone but it is definitely something that needs your attention.
There is a range of reasons as to why your switchboard may need upgrading, but the big one is safety.
A lot of older switchboards are not compliant with current regulations and/or legislation and are at much higher risk for electrical fires and other safety issues.
A switchboard upgrade is the best way to ensure your home is safe from any electrical issues.
From full switchboard upgrades and circuit breaker and safety switch protection installation to metering and supply upgrades, we can do it all.
With fixed quotes for all switchboard upgrades, we make it simple for your home to get the power it needs, safely and effectively.
Changing how you use a space – like changing a bedroom to a home office – might mean you need different power point locations.
(That’s especially true if you’re creating a more accessible home through the NDIS.)
A partial renovation can also be a good time to upgrade from old halogen lights to energy-efficient LEDs.
Whatever changes you’re making to your home, we’ll help you modify your wiring and fixtures to get the outcome you’re looking for.
We can supply and install appliances such as ovens, cooktops, rangehoods, exhaust fans, electric vehicle chargers, and hot water units.
We’ll handle the end-to-end installation of any new electrical appliance, which includes sourcing parts, installing a new dedicated circuit, commissioning, and cleaning up the site.
Upgrading your home doesn’t have to be complex.
Call us, get a quote, and we’ll do the rest.
In 2024, more than 24% of new car sales in Australia were EVs or hybrids – and that number will just keep getting bigger.
Even if you don’t currently own an EV, installing a charger in your home is a simple way to increase its value.
We’ll help you compare options, select the best fit for your property, and check your switchboard for compatibility.
(We’re also 100% charger-agnostic, which means we’ll compare all market options and not just recommend a brand we’re partnered with.)

FAQS
Yes, we hold a $50,000 consumer protection insurance policy and a $20 million public liability policy, which is above the minimum licence requirements in Queensland. We’re more than happy to provide copies of our policies upon request.
It can be. If you’re evaluating an upgrade purely from a cost perspective, you’ll need to know:
Let’s assume you have an energy tariff of 30 cents per kilowatt hour. The average halogen light will use 0.071 kilowatt hours per hour. The average LED light will use 0.007 kilowatt hours per hour. You might have 5 lights on at any one time in your home for around 5 hours a day.
Your existing lights would cost $1.78 a day to run, which adds up to $647.88 a year.
Using the above calculations, LEDs would cost $0.18 a day to run and $63.88 per year (a saving of $584 per year). If we assume it costs $65 for a residential electrician like us to replace each light, and we assume you have 35 lights across your whole property, you’d be looking at $2,275 for a full upgrade. At that cost, you’d break even on your investment in just under 4 years.
(Also consider that halogen bulbs last for around 2,500 hours while LEDs last for around 25,000 hours. You’ll need to replace halogen bulbs around 10 times more than you would LED bulbs.)
Most residential electricians – including us – don’t charge by the hour. Instead, they’ll normally have a fixed callout fee with an additional fixed project fee plus material costs. (Very small jobs, such as switching out an exhaust fan or pool pump, might be covered by the callout fee.) The easiest way to find out how much your project will cost is to call at least four different electricians and compare quotes.
Gold Coast electricians who do charge by the hour typically have a callout fee of $100 to $130, followed by an hourly fee of $80 to $100 (which is normally charged in 15-minute increments). Some electricians don’t have callout fees but instead charge higher hourly or project prices.
If you’re installing a new appliance or power point, you’ll generally need an electrician to install a new circuit running from your switchboard to the appliance/outlet. A standard circuit with a 15-amp load will cost $700–$900 to be installed on the Gold Coast. A high-load circuit with a 20-amp (or higher capacity) will typically cost $1,000–$1,200.
Keep in mind that most electricians factor complexity into their pricing. For example, if your installation is particularly difficult or time-consuming, you might be quoted more than the average.
